TwitterFall – This was one of the first sites I went to when I wanted the latest information on a new topic. You can choose any word or phrase, then any new tweets containing your keywords will drop down like a water fall of messages. You can input several keywords, reply directly from the twitterfall, and many other cool things.

Tweet Grid – Layout multiple refreshing “Columns” of tweets based on any target word or phrase you type in. You can monitor several topics at once in a very simple to monitor display.

Nearby Tweets – monitor any keyword or phrase with results limited to users within a certain Geography. This can be really handy for emergencies or events if you want to monitor storm reports from local Tweeple, etc. Twitter’s standard search function, along with most other sites and software will allow you to set a “distance from me” option, however, Nearby Tweets is just cool to use so check it out. You’ll find cool local people to follow.
